Research Interests: My research is involved basically in the field of Information and Communication Security. I have designed key management and authentication protocols for both self-organized and authority based Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETs). Also, I have designed secure routing protocol for MANETs.Lightweight cryptographic algorithms which are cheaper to implement in resource constrained wireless communication devices is another area of my research. I have proposed a lightweight version of the pseudo-random number generation algorithm (PRGA) of the RC4 stream cipher, which has a negligible hardware implementation cost, yet secure enough for short-term wireless communications. Cyber physical system's security, specifically, security in Internet of Things (IoT) and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is the research domain where I have recently published couple of papers. The objective of my work in this filed is basically to apply the traditional and advanced cryptographic tools such as, proxy re-encryption, identity based cryptography (IBC), certificate-less cryptography (CL-PKC), to realize the special security needs of such networks. Application of anomaly based intrusion detection algorithms and protocols to detect attacks in different types of wireless networks is also included in my research interests.
Subjects taught in last two semesters: Cryptography Fundamentals, Network Security.
